What Reaching 800+ followers on Facebook Taught Me

As a big fan of "growth no matter how little" as long as it is consistent and progressive, anything that smells like it, I immediately celebrate it.

This helps me to remain motivated. I always encourage my students to celebrate their small wins as that will only make the ultimate goal in sight very achievable.

Yesterday, my new Facebook account which I created after losing my old account to the cold arms of hackers reached a new milestone of 800+ followers and I celebrated it.

As I gun for 10K followers on FB alone before the year ends, reaching this milestone in 3 months taught me some self-defining lessons that I think you can implement in your own journey of influence.

Pick A Fight

If people can find you attractive and valuable which translates to influence, you must be a person that's known for a cause. It's either you are a Life Coach in Women's Health, A Real Estate Consultant in Port Harcourt, or a Facebook Ad Specialist.

Do you see how specific these causes are? They aren't very confusing to anyone who comes across your page on any social media platform. In the instant, they know what they are up for and can make an instant choice as to whether they want to join you on that journey or not.

Pick a journey that is so specific that you can't confuse your own shadow.

Learn the Hell out of your Journey

One of the major causes of burnout and of low threshold of consistency is due to LACK of ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE to run with.

If you must become a force to be reckoned with in your field of endeavor, you've got to be growing the database of what you know about your craft. That way, you'll always come up with new and fresh ideas that will get your audience learning and yearning for more.

Implement Like Your Life Depends On it

Another wonderful part of the journey of influence is to create a "SHOWING UP ROUTINE" and stick to it. Be a lifelong implementor! Don't just be a bunch of knowledge only, become an avenue of knowledge expression.

Wake up each day longing to help your audience with that new knowledge, experience, or skill you just acquired. There is no other way to become an authority if you don't show up with what you know DAILY!

Remain Visibly Consistent

Not so far off from implementation, retaining your space at the top requires being visible and consistent forever! That's how you build impact.

Don't just be visible on your own terms rather let your audience hold you accountable by coming public with how you want to serve them your values going forward.

Most of the most successful authorities I know are people who have specific days, and hours in those days that they post their contents on their pages. This is how you win the war of remaining visibly consistent.

Conclusion

Growing your social capital via followerships on your pages on social media can only be achieved through intentionality, strategy, and guts! It's not a walk in the park. Neither it is for normal thinkers and casual doers.

It's for you who are willing to go all out and remain consistent.
