The Realtors' Content Creation Toolkit

As a real estate executive and also a realtor, I can authoritatively state that my 7+ years of experience in the industry leaves me with the inevitable responsibility to help budding realtors get their business done easily for more commission.

Psychologically, it helps you to sell yourself as a true professional to the majority of your audience. Especially those who are waiting to see how long this "new business of yours will last" in your hands.

Starting out earlier on in my career, I used every opportunity I got to do a video for the company I was working with then. Yes, it paid off!

The commissions I got, helped me to start The Win Realty Limited roughly two and half years ago and by extension, The Win Group Holdings!

Win Realty has gone on to become a formidable real estate company in the oil-rich city of Port Harcourt, Nigeria today. Empowering almost 500+ realtors within this period too.

That says how important pushing yourself to become good at Content Creation as quickly as possible as a realtor is.

Nothing trumps visibility, especially in the content-hungry era that we live in. Where the likes of TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads, etc are just at our beck and call.

Let's dive right into your Toolkit for creating mind-boggling, lead-generating, and attention-retention content.

This blog will specifically focus on low-ticket tools as I am particular about helping new realtors to compete favourably in the congesting real estate space with their low budget.

I will always advise the big-shot realtors to professionally set up their media team to shoot very professional videos.

The video above is a typical example of a professionally shot video.

THE TOOLS

Smartphone

Smartphones are not new to us. With the myriad of brands entering the smartphone market, the prices continue to drop, and that makes owning one way easier now than 5 years ago.

Even high-end brands like Apple, Samsung, LG, etc are very affordable at pre-owned retail stores nationwide.

Instead of waiting for the millions in commission to land before you begin to put your gears together, you might already have a worthy Canon or Nikon alternative in your hands.

The video above is shot and edited with a smartphone.

What next, "JUST START SHOOTING"!

That simple. Keep shooting and posting all or some of the videos you are confident in. Owning a smartphone is primarily the genesis of content creation for realtors.

Tripod Stand

A tripod or tripod stand is the second tool a serious realtor ought to add to their toolkit to dish out video content for their hustle.

It helps get rid of the shaky feel that holding phones in the hands to shoot gives to captured videos. It's a vital element for videography.

Here is what a tripod stand for a smartphone looks like and in most cases, it's highly affordable to own.

Microphone

A very important part of the affordable content creation setup for a realtor is a microphone. Thanks to the ingenuity of new technologies, smartphones now have the capabilities to mount microphones and of course, get it to do the work of a microphone.

That's a big relief to startup content creators as the cost and setup for a MIC system is both cost-intensive and cumbersome to carry about. But with smartphone MICs, it's more like plug-and-play!

You don't need any special tech skills to use these mics. They come in two variations: wired and wireless. The choice is up to you. Buy, plug, and record. It's that simple.

The most vital part of this post is skill acquisition. Skills are simply those capabilities you acquire through learning to help you collapse time and be efficient.

Firstly, you must learn how to set up the phone with the tripod and the mic. Get so good at it and learn angles. You can easily get an idea from watching other realtors and how their videos look.

Mind you always copy from the best.

Secondly, you need to know the apps (software) that are best for editing videos and for captioning. I recommend the Capcut app. Luckily it's free on both Appstore and Google Playstore!

Next is the social media platforms where you will post these contents to build a following and generate leads. You need to figure out your content strategy which by extension involves which social media platforms you want to leverage, understanding your target audience, understanding the language they speak, and speaking it to them in your videos, etc.

In conclusion, technology has made work easier for all of us today and we must begin to take it very seriously.

You are missing out on a lot of goldmines if you are not yet actively producing content for your social media pages.
